Measuring bird-related feed loss before and during AI deterrence.

Kuang Chuan Dairy Co., Ltd. collaborated with iCHASE on a one-month farm evaluation using a simple, repeatable feed-loss measurement.

Test method

Weighed bait trays tracked daily feed disappearance.

  1. 01

    Four bait trays were positioned along a dairy walkway approximately 50 metres long, spaced at 10-15 metre intervals.

  2. 02

    A total of 2kg of feed was randomly distributed across the four trays after daily farm tasks were completed.

  3. 03

    The trays were collected after the evening tasks and the remaining feed was used to calculate the apparent loss rate.

  4. 04

    Results were plotted over the evaluation period, showing the recorded pattern before and during deterrence.

Reported result

Loss fluctuated before activation, then remained close to zero.

The report chart records variable loss during the first 20 days, ranging from below 0.5% to approximately 3.2%. From around day 21, the plotted results fall sharply and remain at or very close to zero for most of the remaining period.

This supports further investigation of AI-directed deterrence as a feed-protection tool. It does not, by itself, establish a guaranteed result for other farms.

  • The trays measure apparent feed disappearance, not confirmed bird consumption alone.

For SereLex, this is best used as practical proof of concept. A UK installation should establish its own baseline and track bird activity and operational outcomes over time.

Case study 02 · Thailand · Poultry breeder farm

More than 90% reduction in recorded contamination events.

In a manufacturer-published case study, a breeder farm facing persistent wild-bird intrusion deployed the iCHASE AI Bird Repeller in 2023. The farm used a marked grid beneath an established roosting point to compare droppings before and after the system stabilised.

Reported outcome

A simple contamination measure showed a substantial change.

The published count fell from 15 droppings inside the marked area to one after deployment and system stabilisation—reported by iCHASE as a reduction of more than 90%.

  • The system was deployed in 2023.
  • Weekly repelling performance was tracked from August 2023 to April 2024.
  • The platform provided trend analysis and helped identify periods of peak bird activity.
  • The farm already had deterrence measures, but continued to experience wild-bird pressure.

Useful operational evidence—not an independent controlled trial.

The case study is published by the manufacturer and reports a before-and-after count at one identified roosting point. It does not describe an untreated control, independent verification or a formal statistical analysis. The result is relevant evidence of real-site performance, but should not be presented as a guaranteed 90% reduction at every poultry site.
