Netting remains appropriate in many enclosed areas. Across very large spans, changing layouts or architecturally sensitive buildings, however, it can become expensive to install, inspect, clean and maintain. Damaged or poorly managed netting may also create entrapment and animal-welfare concerns.
The right solution may combine AI deterrence with proofing, hygiene and selected physical exclusion after a professional site assessment.
Warehouses, factories, hangars and processing halls can contain high roofs, gantries, open loading doors and moving plant. Full netting may obstruct access or require costly work at height whenever it is repaired or cleaned.
Bird fouling can affect façades, terraces, rooflines, air-conditioning plant and guest areas. Visible netting may conflict with appearance, while damaged sections can trap birds and create distress, complaints or reputational risk.

These observations summarise SereLex's experience of customer sites and the practical questions facility managers ask. They are not a claim that every site will achieve the same result.
Before iCHASE, sites faced persistent pressure from gulls, pigeons, crows and sometimes starlings. Static scarers, kites, spikes, netting, gas guns and distress calls can help, but predictable methods are often ignored over time. On large sites, manual disturbance is also difficult to sustain consistently.
Managers saw fewer birds gathering around previous feeding and loafing areas, with less fouling where birds had historically congregated. The dashboard's daily before-and-after images provided visible evidence that the camera was detecting birds and intervening—not merely operating in the background.
Because iCHASE responds to detected activity rather than following one fixed pattern, birds are less able to predict the response. Further work is still needed with European starlings, whose flocking behaviour can require additional refinement and a site-specific strategy.
Reduced bird pressure can mean less fouling, contamination, blocked gutters and cleaning. The event record also helps sites demonstrate active bird-risk management during audits, customer inspections, biosecurity reviews and internal risk assessments.
Setup is straightforward when the site assessment and zoning are correct. The system needs time to learn its environment; zones can be adjusted as layouts and pressure points change. Personnel recognition helps the system avoid targeting staff in working areas.
